Baccio Della Porta Essay Example For Students
Baccio Della Porta Essay Indeed, even the normal individual with practically zero foundation in craftsmanship may have heard the names Leonardo da Vinci, Michaelangelo, or Raphael. Not just on the grounds that they are the most popular and critical painters, stone workers, artists, planners, and creators of the high renaissance, yet additionally on account of the innumerable stories and films, truth and fiction which incorporated these men and in any event referenced their significance, pertinence, and impacts on today7s world. Numerous youngsters have grown up definitely knowing these names, and maybe that they were specialists anyway oversimplified that might be, after the blast of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the late eighties. Maybe there is one high renaissance craftsman who doesn't generally recieve due credit, however who was influencial in any case. One such craftsman was Baccio della Porta, a Florentine renaissance painter. Baccio della Porta was conceived in Florence, Italy in 1472. As antiquarians know, most specialists went into apprenticeship at about the age of eleven or twelve right now in Florence. Considering, it is accepted that Baccio became a student of Cosimo Rosselli at that age since he was notable in his workshop by 1485. 1 Baccio della Portas ace or educator, Cosimo Rosselli, had most likely just come back from his work in Rome in the Sistine Chapel. It is likewise realized that the normal time allotment for a craftsmen apprenticeship was around six to eight years, putting Baccio all alone around 1490. 2 According to numerous cutting edge workmanship history specialists, Vasari is the most dependable wellspring of data on the life and works of Fra Bartolommeo after he entered the Dominican Order and turned into a sibling. Baccio della Porta and a wharf of his, just as a kindred understudy of expressions of the human experience, Mariotto Albertinelli became cozy companions during their apprenticeships. Following their apprenticeship the two chose to work proffesionally together at the home of Baccio della Porta. They settled on this choice to cooperate in 1491, yet their organization and fellowship obviously finished when they headed out in their own direction in styles and selections of schools to follow and relate with4. Baccio della Porta joined the devotees of Savonarolas, Mariotto related with the Medici adherents, explicitly working for the supporter Alfonsina Orsini who was the spouse of Piero de Medici. After Savonarolas was singed during the savage uproars of the arrabiati. Chris Fischer composes that there more likely than not been incalculable works executed between Mariotti Albertinelli and Baccio della Porta during this time of change when Savonarolas was killed on the grounds that he was believed to be an apostate. 5 However, in light of this brutal period, not many of these works can be acredited to some painter. The conspicuous and obvious unmistakable impacts by ace craftsmen were reflected in numerous works, which assisted with narrowing a few works down to the style of the Cosimo Rosselli school. As Baccio della Porta built up his own style which was normally to give reason, which means, and strict request, he at that point made a perpetual and significant advance in his life. 6 Baccio della Porta was profoundly moved in the wake of seeing the proclaiming of Savonarola and chose to join the Dominican Brotherhood around 1500. 7 Once Baccio della Porta had pulled back into the community he resigned from painting for quite a while. This troublesome choice more likely than not assembled character, something which is an unequivocal in addition to in the life of a trying craftsman. In the wake of joining the religious circle Baccios name changed to Fra Bartolommeo as he is known today. His style indicated a fact and need to lecture of religion and honorableness. Despite the fact that Fra Bartolommeos reason reflected in his works was respectable and genuine, he was not actually a progressive with a lot to state. His figure-style, creation, imagery, beat, acing of chiaroscuro, his excellent treatment of streaming draperies, and his straightforwardness all mirror his objective of freeing the universe of vanity. Rumi and Painting Analysis EssayFigure 6, Fra Bartolommeos Pieta which rests in Pitti Florence, Italy. Optimism is a common factor in this work in view of the current actuality that Christ doesn't take after a genuinely dead cadaver, for his head lies as though resting and no genuine injuries can be seen. Feeling is communicated through the energetic grasp by Mary Magdalen at Christs feet and the delicate protective touch by the Mary. 12 one more case of vision in this work is the way that Jesus should be around 33 years of age, while his mom gives off an impression of being no more established than 25. In Lucca Academy in Florence, Bartolommeos Madonna of Mercy can be seen, a painting from 1515. This is one more case of the Fras culminated method of remembering a mass of figures for one scene without swarming the organization, in part by using a way for the figures. The eye of the watcher is permitted to move about the work by means of the little steps, first driving up towards the Madonna. The unpretentious hierarchic size of the Madonna and the coasting holy messengers and Christ figures just enhance the wonder, respectability, and significance of the scene. During 1509 Fra Bartolommeo finished figure 8 God the Father and two Saints, a work motivated by a similar feeling as in the St. Bernard and therefore the two are frequently analyzed. The drapery is maybe additionally streaming and profoundly representative in this work than in the St. Bernard. The sythesis holds Bartolommeos solid request and compostion style, with the heavenly and significant figure focused and skimming over the remainder of the figures, adding a dramatic appearance to the crowd seeing this special raised area piece. God the Father and two Saints holds various differentiations to Raphaels Sistine Madonna, albeit both contain stooping and skimming figures. The scenes are likewise rewarded diversely in that Bartolommeo makes quiet profundity and air with his level inaccessible scene. 13 This work is most likely a fine case of Fra Bartolommeos develop style of the figure, organization, and his musical, largescale arrangements which were and are intended to inspire the crowd, regularly of a Roman Catholic foundation, to desert vanity and inane detail and to concentrate on life in general. Possibly Bartolommeo needed individuals to live their lives along these lines, therefore giving a straightforward yet respectable good clarifying his view that life ought to be lived not dreaded. That minor occurrences and conditions don't influence the result at long last. As Heinrich Wolfflin wrote in comparable words, Fra Bartolommeo might not have had a lot to state as a High Renaissance painter, yet what he said he said with conviction.

A topic articulation communicating my translation of the principle thought in thisâ poem would be: Children are the individuals who donââ¬â¢t comprehend the contrasts among individuals and so as to acknowledge them, they need to see, yet in addition ââ¬Å"to connect and touchâ⬠. The tone and mind-set of the sonnet are strange toward the starting when it isn't clear what is truly going on, yet sort of awkward toward the end when the peruser distinguishes what the kids had done and how they have caused their mom to feel humiliated from their activities. Definitions, Examples, and Discussions of English Grammar
The grammar of a language includes basic axioms such as the existence of tenses of verbs, articles and adjectives and their proper order, how questions are phrased, and much more. Language cannot function without grammar. It would simply make no sense. People require grammar to communicate effectively. Speakers and listeners, authors and their audiences must function in like systems in order to understand one another. In other words, a language without grammar is like a pile of bricks without mortar to hold them together or the masons to build with them. While the basic components are present, they are, for all intents and purposes, useless. Fast Facts: Grammar Word Origin and Definition The word grammarà comes from the Greek, meaning craft of letters. Its an apt description. In any language, grammar is:The systematic study and description of a language (as compared with usage).A set of rules and examples dealing with the syntax and word structures (morphology) of a language.à We Learn Grammar From Birth British linguist, academic and author David Crystal tells us thatà grammarà is the study of all the contrasts of meaning that it is possible to make within sentences. The rules of grammar tell us how. By one count, there are some 3,500 such rules in English. Intimidating, to be sure, but native speakers dont have to worry about studying each and every rule. Even if you dont know all the lexicographical terms and pedantic minutiae involved in the study of grammar, take it from noted novelist and essayist Joan Didion: What I know aboutà grammarà is its infinite power. To shift the structure of a sentence alters the meaning of that sentence. Grammar is actually something all of us begin to learn in our first days and weeks of life, through interaction with others.à From the moment were born, languageââ¬âand the grammar that makes up that languageââ¬âis all around us. We start learning it as soon as we hear it spoken around us, even if we dont fully comprehend its meaning yet. Although a baby wouldnt have a clue about the terminology, they do begin to pick up and assimilate how sentences are put together (syntax), as well as figure out the pieces that go into making up those sentences work (morphology). A preschoolers tacit knowledge ofà grammarà is more sophisticated than the thickest style manual, explains cognitive psychologist, linguist, and popular science author Steven Pinker. [Grammar should not] be confused with the guidelines for how one ought to speak. Real-World Uses of Grammar Of course, anyone who wants to be an effective speaker or writer must have at least a basic grasp of grammar. The furtherà beyond the basics you go, the more effectively and clearly youll be able to communicate in almost any situation. There are several applications of grammatical study:(1) A recognition of grammatical structures is often essential for punctuation(2) A study of ones native grammar is helpful when one studies the grammar of a foreign language(3) A knowledge of grammar is a help in the interpretation of literary as well as nonliterary texts, since the interpretation of a passage sometimes depends crucially on grammatical analysis(4) A study of the grammatical resources of English is useful in composition: in particular, it can help you to evaluate the choices available to you when you come to revise an earlier written draft.ââ¬âFrom An Introduction to English Grammar by Sidney Greenbaum and Gerald Nelson In a professional setting, having advanced knowledge of grammar can help you interact efficiently and easily with your colleagues, subordinates, and superiors. Whether youre giving directions, getting feedback from your boss, discussing the goals of a particular project, or creating marketing materialsââ¬âthe ability to communicate effectively is extremely important. Types of Grammar Teachers follow a course ofà pedagogical grammarà when instructing English language learners. While students mainly have to deal with the nuts-and-bolts of prescriptive,à traditionalà grammar (such as making sure verbs and subjects agree and where to put commas in a sentence), linguists focus on the infinitely more complex aspects of language. They study how people acquire language and debate whether every child is born with a concept of universal grammar, and examine everything from how different languages compare to each other (comparative grammar) to the variety of permutations within a single language (descriptiveà grammar) to the way in which words and usage interrelate to create meaning (lexicogrammar). What Philosophy Means To Me Example
Essays on What Philosophy Means To Me Coursework What Philosophy means to me Speaking of the ment that were the hardest to respond to, one would have to the one about morality. Indeed, this notion is quite a debatable one since there is a considerable number of different ethical approaches that contradict with each other, yet seem quite convincing when analyzed independently (Chaffee, 2013).The above mentioned dilemmas relate to each other in the following way: they provide a person with two completely opposite views on the same problem. For example, the question about free will and determination of the actions allows a person to choose oneââ¬â¢s position with regard to this issue. In other words, there is no third option among these ones (Schick Vaugh 2008).The answers that I have given show that I adopted an idealistic approach towards viewing the world, believe in free will as well as God. The way in which I have answers the questions suggest that I have not developed a strong position on morality, but believe in the scienti fic progress.Speaking of branches of Philosophy that these statements relate to, one might note the following: the first two are connected to materialistic or idealistic perception, the next two ââ¬â free will and determinism, the next two ââ¬â development of personality; the remaining ones reflect philosophical views on morality and ethics, theology and epistemology (Solomon Higgins, 2014).All the above mentioned areas of philosophy are closely connected to my personal goals for this course as I am willing to learn a lot about the notion that are not quite familiar to me and improve my knowledge of some debatable issues. Personal Leadership free essay sample
Personal Leadership Profile Few skills are more important to self-improvement than being able to take a step back and honestly evaluate you. Self-reflection allows you to expose problems early, before they become too painful to ignore. Unfortunately, honest self-evaluation is one of the hardest skills to master. People tend to be self-serving in their thoughts. For most people, self-reflection involves looking into a mirror, with all the information warped and distorted until it barely resembles reality. True self-evaluation is challenging, and requires you to be open to ââ¬Å"seeâ⬠your strengths and weaknesses, and to develop a plan of action to develop those areas that are lacking. Preparedness for the hard truth is required. The truth is something not everyone is prepared to accept. However, without acceptance, personal growth cannot occur. Eight weeks ago, I began a journey of self-evaluation and reflection that would shock the hell out of me. I would come to learn that the view I hold of myself as a leader and business professional, is entirely different from the view others have of me. We will write a custom essay sample on Personal Leadership or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page I would also learn that many of the leadership skills I thought I had mastered, I had not even begun to learn. Leadership effectiveness is the ultimate goal of any leader; unfortunately, the facts reveal that as a leader, I was less than effective. Owning a propensity to avoid risk, control issues, task vs. relationship focused, and the tendency to play office politics have allowed a less than productive leadership style to prevail. As I looked at my own reflection of leadership and the many skills I needed to develop, I decided to start with the first three I felt to be most important to my becoming an effective leader; conflict management, feedback, and valuing others. Conflict is inevitable. Management spends up to a third of their time at work managing, handling, and dealing with conflict. Workers waste just as much time as managers on conflict, making it the number one wasteful use of time in most organizations. Keeping that in mind, quick resolution of conflict with all parties leaving the situation feeling their concerns and issues have been addressed in the resolution is the best way to improve morale, productive time, and overall interpersonal relationships within an organization and minimize future conflicts. To resolve conflict, you must understand it first. Conflict is usually the result of two or more values, perspectives, or opinions that are contradictory in nature and have not been aligned or agreed upon yet. Most conflict hampers productivity, lowers morale, causes more and continued conflicts, and supports inappropriate behaviors. The word ââ¬Å"conflictâ⬠is often viewed as a negative issue within an organization, but with proper leadership, conflict can help raise and address problems, help people learn how to recognize and benefit from their differences, and cause authentic communication, just to name a few. My objective is to increase my leadership skills in the area of conflict resolution, to see conflict as an opportunity for change and growth, Focus on issues rather than personal positions, and to have the ability to approach all conflict optimistically.

Violence And Children Essays - Dispute Resolution, Parenting, Family
Violence And Children If you turn on the television at around seven-o clock at night, you will see plenty of violent shows. This violence on television affects the behavior of children, causing their play to become more aggressive. American parents do not exercise enough control over their child's television viewing habits, often using the television as a sort of electronic baby-sitter. Violence is everywhere in the world of entertainment. Most of the movies in the theaters contain at least a little bit of violence. Even the popular Star Wars series contains violent content, such as murder, torture, and dismemberment. Television cartoons also contain violence, such as Wyle E. Coyote getting run over by a truck and getting up unhurt, that affects the way children behave. When I was a child, my siblings and I watched about five to six of hours of television per week, but from the beginning, our parents explained to us the difference between reality and fantasy. We knew the real world was not the same as what we saw on television and at the movies. In contrast, my cousins now watch about an average of ten hours of television per week and their parents have not quite explained this concept to them very well. They have not quite grasped the concept of reality versus fantasy. I have four young cousins. Their ages are twelve, ten, eight, and seven years old. During the day, the two younger ones watch several hours of television. When the two older ones come home from school, they immediately park themselves in front of the television for the next two hours. Their younger brothers always join them. My cousins usually watch cartons that have fighting scenes. Sometimes they try to mimic what they see. So, they start fighting. At first, it is playful, after a while, the fighting gets a little more serious. At this point, I usually hear one of my cousins crying because someone hit him too hard. This happens almost every day. Their parents do not seem to notice what effect these television shows have on their sons. My four young cousins think that violence is the answer to all problems. For example, if they do not get what they want from another sibling, they sometimes hit or threaten to hit that sibling. They think that if they resort to violence, they will always get their way. I know of several solutions that will help parent`s control what and how much their child watches. First of all, they have to talk with their child about what the difference between reality and fantasy is. Understanding a childs grasp of reality versus fantasy will help parents decide what shows he or she is mature enough to watch. Secondly, there are other activities that a child should participate in besides watching television. For example, parents should encourage them to take up new hobbies to occupy their afternoons after they finish their homework. Children should also be encouraged to do more reading instead of watching television at night. Reading helps to expand a childs vocabulary and will help them do better in school. Thirdly, parents should buy a television that has a v-chip installed into it. By around the year 2000, most television will have this as a part of its standard feature. The v-chip locks out certain channels or shows that contains violence. Only parents can unlock this function by entering a special code. Some parents might argue that they would not have time to monitor their childs viewing habits because they work all day. Another argument might be that they do not have enough money to buy a television that has a v-chip installed in it. Another parent might argue about their child going over to their friend`s house to watch something that they are not allowed to watch at home. How can they keep their child from doing this? If I were a parent, I would be concerned about my childs future. If a child is aggressive as a child they will mostly be very aggressive as an adult. This is one reason why so many crimes are committed. Secondly, ever adult has authority over their child no matter how old. It just depends on the degree of authority. I think that children should not have too much freedom or else they can end up doing something that is harmful to their bodies and their minds. Watching too much violent shows on television does not help their development as a person. Therefore, it is imperative that their

As a business organizer I would design a marketing plan in the following systematic steps. Executive Summary: This will form a preamble into the whole marketing plan and will highlight the major points of the over all plan. In nutshell, the summary brings into light the major services offered and the p roducts of the company. Risks Within A Marketing Plan. In a time of finely tuned sensitivity to marketing competence a momentous effort should be made to ensure that the money pumped into the marketing plan achieves the best returns possible. Time and again, the best laid plans fail or are derailed by sudden or under-estimated forces that despoil the projected returns razing professional reputations. The negative forces which endeavor to thwart the marketing plan are termed as risks. As Davies elaborates risks are likely events that will considerably decrease the quantity base, hoist the expenditures and affect margins of the market share in adverse ways (1998.p.59) Myriad factors raging bad w eather to marketing channel interference and financial gaffs could sap the acuity of a well calculated marketing plan. Some factors which pose great threat to the success of the marketing plans include: Competitive actions, once a product or service is launched in the market place for instance in the case of Dell Inc after launching a plasma screen monitor for the computers. Chances are very high that Hewlett Packard, and Compaq will do the same; they would try to duplicate the product and add on some extra accessories which could easily cause the Dellââ¬â¢s monitors to be discredited. In order to avoid being choked up by competitors Dell has to endeavor to produce perfect products which will be hard to duplicate and which will stand out in the market place to give them edge over the competitive computer markets. Financial Blunders, Poor budgeting could lead to paucity in the money allocated to implement the marketing plan and this could deter the performance of the whole project or cause compromise in the quality of the expected results. Poorly managed and unmitigated risks sap the credibility of a well planned marketing plan and this could disappoint the company and frustrate the efforts of the marketers as they try to steer the organization into a fruitful territory. Operational risks are also known as the short term risks and they cover the pricing strategy and the quality of the product or service offered in the market place. Poor pricing could stall the rate at which the product or service is consumed, it could also garner losses for the business if the returns obtained from the product or services are too low (Chisnall1997.p.54). Poor quality products give the competitors a chance to trample over the business since customer always seek to buy the best products which are offered at their convenient prices. Strategic risks, these risks concern the business in relation to the immediate environment. They concern the producer as he relates to the longer t erm forces (Brassington 2006.p.98) some key risks entombed in this category include poor buyer power. For instance if Dell Inc wants to launch a new and sophisticated power saving, fast and reliable computer machine in order to cater for the production cost incurred it will have to hike the price and this will be difficult for the buyers since they may not be acquainted with buying computers at high prices. Evolution of consumer demand, is also another strategic risk, the market demands keep on changing due to increased technological changes in the market place hence a product might be phased out due to buyerââ¬â¢s disinterest or change of preference causing the business to incur massive losses. Policy changes could be another bottleneck to the marketing plan. Some government policies implemented such as increased taxes on the production materials or regulatory measures on how the product is sold and transported could deter the rate at which a service or product is consumed. In o rder for the ill effects of risks associated with marketing plan to abate marketing planners should device a contingency plan to buffer any ill effects accrued to the marketing process (Booms Bitner 2001.p.74). Although the planners have very little to do to avoid the occurrence of the risks they are supposed to be prepared financially, and be psychologically prepared and have action plans on what should be done incase of uncertainties. Construction Of Marketing Plan. Executive Summary Dell Inc is a complex IT multinational company which offers a wide assortment of computer products and services. Further it sells computer servers and other accessories used to aid in computer networking. The marketing plan endeavors to market Dell servers in Middle East where the competition has not yet taken root. The company will be working on a budget of approximately Three million dollars for a period of six months in order to break even in the virgin market Business Overview. Dell servers are po werful computer machines used to offer back up for other computers in a networked computer environment. Servers provide a link through which computers networked though a LAN (Local Area Network) or WAN (Wide Area Network) can communicate, share information and achieve data. A typical server capable of supporting 50 computer work stations goes for $400. The companies which pose competition to this kind of product is the Microsoft inc and Hewlett Packard. In the Middle East the company projects to acquire a pool of over five hundred thousand users since computer usage is gaining prevalence in the region. Target Market. The market cluster targeted for this kind of product include the ISPââ¬â¢S (Internet Service Providers), colleges and learning institutions, producing companies, government institutions and the religious institutions. In the case of the ISPââ¬â¢S who need to offer a lot of services to the initial customers, the company will offer high specialized servers to ensure that they can hold innumerable Gigabytes of data. Marketing Goals. To increase computer usage in Middle East by introducing highly powerful servers this could aid in provision of internet bandwidth to the potential clients. To bolster clientele base by venturing into new markets. To offer more training programs on computer usage in Middle East in order to create a viable market for the company servers. To establish a permanent working legal relationship, with the Middle East Information regulatory department. Marketing Strategies. The strategies will be used to venture in Middle East with new products include, customer incentives whereby for every Dell server machine purchased customers will be given free training on how to use them and also get free programs for running the server. There will also be free laptop offer for the first hundred clients in order to increase the rate at which people will purchase the products. Implementation Tactics. Foremost the Dell Company will advert ise on Television channels and News Papers the presence of its chiefly available products and the advantages accrued to usage of its products. Moreover, the clients will be compelled to know that it is the best offer in the market. Budget The whole practice which is supposed to last for three years is supposed to cost $six billion dollars. The budget is projected on the assumption that the potential customers will embrace and purchase the offered products (Blythe 2004.p.65). Further, it is assumed that the legal regulatory mechanisms will not inhibit the Dell Company from carrying out its business objectives in Middle East. Result Evaluation. The company will be able to realize the acquisition of its goals if there will be 10% reception of the product in the first three months. Further, if the company will be able to acquire five hundred clients inn two months it will be in a course of achieving its goals. The Importance Of Each Marketing Plan Component The executive summary of the marketing plan offers brief summary of all the activities which will be carried in order to make the whole plan a success. Business overview will be the second part of the plan explaining the general operations of the business and the objectives in relation to the outlined marketing plan (Baker 2000.p.43). The targeted market curves a niche for the business to identify the needs of the people who need to purchase the product. Marketing goals and strategies will help the business to have a vision on what it aspires to achieve and how it will achieve it. The marketing tactics are the procedures which will be followed in order to realize the set goals. The budget will highlight the overall cost of the marketing plan. Result evaluation will help to gauge the credibility of the plan. Mitigation Strategies For High Risk Components High risk components include the budget and the targeted customers. The budget may be minimal in comparison to the needs established, the planners will have a c ontingency plan by budgeting for hidden costs and uncertainties. Further, the team will have a reserve of finances for miscellaneous costs like training costs and the verbal promotion costs. Customers And Competitors The targeted customers who are likely to buy the Dell server machine include ISPââ¬â¢S government institutions and learning institutions this is because they are likely to have numerous computers in their working environments which are networked. The companies which are likely to offer stiff competition include Microsoft Inc and Hewlett Packard. Promoting Marketing Plan In Support Of Strategic Objectives Supporting Dellââ¬â¢s Strategic Objectives Dell has got a strategic objective of venturing into a new virgin market to promote its servers. The driving force behind the move is in endeavor to attain more customers and also to improve awareness of its products. Moreover, Dell will assert efforts towards improved sales and customer relations. My marketing plan will help to create awareness of the product through Television promotions and the Daily newspapers hence increasing customersââ¬â¢ proclivity towards Dellââ¬â¢s commodities. On the other note the marketing plan will offer incentives like free training and free laptops a factor which will create customer loyalty and bolster improved sales. Approach To Gain Agreement For The Marketing Plan In order for my marketing plan to gain credibility to the business managers I will foremost project to them the anticipated benefits of the whole marketing program. I will convince them that the move to market products in Middle East will help the company to dominate the computer servers market before competitors creep in. I will keenly establish the significance of marketing as it will help to give the company an edge in the cutthroat competitive computer market. Publicity And Promotion Strategy The strategy to embrace in order to gain publicity for the product is by using mass media channels lik e the internet, the Television channels and the daily Newspapers this will ensure that the information will reach numerous potential clients within a short period. Reflective Statement This research paper has stretched my credulity helping me to develop a different perspective towards the marketing facet of the business. I have realized that in the contemporary business hurl, a businessââ¬â¢s constancy in the market place is determined by its knack to formulate and implement strategies in order to remain at par with the demands exerted by both internal and external environments. A business must devise a strategic plan which looks far beyond the instantaneous circumstances bringing to clarity the focal point of the business and its vision for the future. Strategic marketing considers the customerââ¬â¢s point of view when planning a marketing campaign. Moreover, it blends the customerââ¬â¢s situations, such as what they want and why they want a product or service, with the ge neral companyââ¬â¢s direction. I have realized that marketing plan plays a massive role in aiding the entire businesses attain its core objectives. It offers positive solutions on how fast and effectively the business can achieve its projected project margins. The success of any business endeavor is so depended on the marketing plan that it why it should be formulated so accurately giving a key consideration to both the external and internal parameters. The existing customers are well retained through marketing plan when loyalty schemes are established, again new customers are acquired and retained thorough the plan if it is properly formulated. All the businesses which intent to remain afloat in the highly competitive arena must have on their fingertips all the information concerning their consumer needs and how to satisfy those needs. Marketing veers towards the consumer needs and how to satisfy them this is the surest way of making sure that the brands produced have credibilit y in the market and address the urgent consumer needs. Marketing is all about devising products which intrinsically satisfy the needs of the potential market at the same time offering a challenge to the competitors. Conclusion Business success depends on formulation of attainable strategies and achieving the specific objectives of the strategies. In order to achieve the objectives in accordance to the stipulated timeline is important to have a marketing plan which blends with the business goals and objectives. The plan will cultivate an ample environment through which goals will be achieved. A marketing plan must put into consideration the targeted market its needs and preferences (Hoyer 2001.p.34). The plan should bolster both loyalty and increase customer satisfaction which will draw in more customers and augment the business growth. The secret of success in business is devising a realistic marketing plan, executing it in relation to the business goals steering the business into f ruitful terrains. Reference List Baker, M. Apollo 13
Both sides of the argument were well supported and we agreed to disagree with the following conclusions: one side took the stance that the mission was not successful because they did not make it to the moon; the other side took the stance that the mission was successful because the astronautsââ¬â¢ lives were saved and that the mission evolved into bringing the astronauts home safely. The second issue the green team debated was whether or not ethics played a role in the decisions made by the Apollo 13 team, ground and space. Again we had a split jury. One side felt that ethics and integrity were clearly shown in Apollo 13 when they decided to abandon the mission to the moon when the spacecraft failed for the safety of the astronauts. Both leaders, Lovell and Kranz, demonstrated strong leadership and integrity by collaborating closely with their teams to facilitate clear communication to help escape the danger. This ideology should be emphasized in business corporations. If the collective goal could be identified at the beginning of each problem, it is not difficult to facilitate a collective effort to achieve a common goal. The essence of this film is to teach entities integrity and teamwork. The other side felt that while they could see how the mission was conducted with integrity, but they still having a difficult time seeing how any of it came down to ethics. They did not see any ethical dilemmas played out in the film or the real story of Apollo 13. The mission was aborted, in order to save the astronautsââ¬â¢ own lives, but that is not an ethical decision. We felt that the two most relevant issues were leadership and teamwork. These are the important learning lessons from the film, Apollo 13. Leadership, with complement to teamwork, salvaged the space crew from complete failure. If we had to pick just one relevant issue however, leadership would definitely win out. Your thoughts, insights, and/or conclusions about the Apollo 13 leadership and team lessons. Even though the Apollo 13 team failed the ultimate mission to the moon, we believe leadership and teamwork throughout the film is what made the mission successful. Our team believes teamwork and leadership is what steered the crew through the storm of great danger to reach the haven of safety to Earth. This film depicted characteristics of courage, perseverance, resilience and synergy that embody the idea of leadership and teamwork. The moral of the story can exemplify the challenges leaders face in modern day business. If corporate leaders can take values from the movie and instill strong leadership and teamwork principles into their business, this promotes sustainable success that will overcome any challenges. From the film, Gene Kranz and Jim Lovell collaborated through complex issues and stayed vigilant to their common goal in preparing for the astronautââ¬â¢s safety return. We have found the J. Singhââ¬â¢s (2008) article entitled, ââ¬Å"Imposters Masquerading as Leaders: Can the Contagion be Contained? â⬠supports Apollo13ââ¬â¢s leadership idea through the elements of energy, expertise, and integrity. A true leader according to Singh (2008) ââ¬Å" his energy level at work, or drive, and passion to excel; or what in sporting parlance is referred to as the ââ¬Ëkiller instinct. ââ¬â¢ It performs the role of a starter or dynamo in an engine. It triggers the machine to lifeâ⬠(p. 738). Lovellââ¬â¢s team and Kranzââ¬â¢s team worked together to work out solutions to power the Command Module enable to restart Odyssey to get them back to Earth. The film captured the intensity of the challenge when Kranz said ââ¬Å"failure is not an optionâ⬠(Grazer, 1995). At the height of the stress, Kranz and Lovell were kicked into the ââ¬Ëkiller instinctââ¬â¢ to do everything in their power to find a solution to bring Lovellââ¬â¢s team home. The second element of leadership according to Singh is expertise. Singh argued ââ¬Å"raw energy can be wasteful, even destructive, if not harnessed well. Therefore, one must be skilled at handling it and channeling it for constructive purposes. Singh latter added expertise is fostered by the ââ¬Å"advanced know-how. â⬠It is acquired through oneââ¬â¢s specialized education and training in the related discipline and through ââ¬Å"personal earning distilled from day-to ââ¬â day experiencesâ⬠(p. 739). Lovell and his team received extensive training to prepare for their mission prior to launching. Kranz and his team are competent in directing the astronauts for the mi ssion. The teams shared and exchanged each otherââ¬â¢s knowledge and expertise to execute the plan to persevere through the danger from death. The third element of leadership profile is integrity (Singh, 2008). Singh argued integrity may be an old fashioned virtue. However, ââ¬Å"no company can claim excellence unless its management is based on a set of non-negotiable values (p. 739). Integrity is a broad term, some of the attributes to this word pertains to the film are honest/transparency, ethics or integrity, communication consistency, honoring commitments, mutual respect, extend credit and appreciation for job well done, accountability for mistakes and stay grounded to his/her beliefs and values (Singh, 2008). The idea of integrity and ethics were shown throughout the film. Lovell and his team were transparent to the problem throughout the challenge to avoid any miscommunications. Lovell and Kranzââ¬â¢s team maintained mutual respect and open communication on issues and challenges they were having in the mission. When Mattingly and Aaron found the way to restart Odyssey by transmitting the power from Aquarius to get Lovellââ¬â¢s team back to safely, their works were acknowledged and recognized by the leaders in the mission of saving Lovellââ¬â¢s team. Not only did the film demonstrated strong leadership skills in maintaining vigilance in prioritizing space crewââ¬â¢s safety, teamwork complements the final success of getting the crew back home safely. Jon Katzenbach and Douglas Smithââ¬â¢s research (2005), ââ¬Å"The Discipline of Teamsâ⬠argued true teamwork is prescribed through teams sharing leadership roles, holding people accountable, specific team purpose each team delivers, collective work products, encourage open-ended discussions in problem setting situation, measuring performance by assessing collective work products, discussion and make decision that work for everyone (p. 64). These characteristics were apparent in Kranzââ¬â¢s team when they sit together to brainstorm solutions to bring the astronauts back to Earth. Each member in Kranzââ¬â¢s teams was assigned different tasks and was encouraged to come up with new solutions to help solve this problem. Your experiences with the team process. Challenges? Benefits? Changes from beginning of week to end of week? Team project usually is more of a challenge than ease due to the requirement of equal commitments from every member of the team. Teamwork from online program is more difficult as teams re made of members that are from different geographic locations. The challenge was even greater for us because our team has the largest time zone difference than the other teams in our class. Brittan is working Afghanistan and Shawnae and I (Yi) live on the opposite side of the country from Shawnae. We were limited in being able to ââ¬Å"meetâ⬠and discuss the project as frequently as we would want due to other obligations, such all of us work full time. However, we were able to manage this stress by actively communicating with each other about our situation and limitation. We were able to utilize team forums and chat room to facilitate our communication for this case project. Despite the fact that we were separated by different time zones and working full time, our team were able to communicate last Sunday and properly communicate the work we have to do. Each of the members took on a portion of the assignment and work on it on our own time. Even though we have never met physically, we were confident in our each otherââ¬â¢s ability to meet the requirement of getting our portion of the work done on time for our discussion.

Curriculum Relevancy Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Curriculum Relevancy - Essay Example The frameworks are so highly regarded, that The Department of Education will base the new student assessment program on the frameworks (DOE, 2006, par. 3). What are the relevant topics that teachers, students, and parents feel should find a place in the Massachusetts' curriculum How have these topics changed or evolved over recent years These and other questions will be examined and answered in this paper. In addition, the results will be presented of a recent poll of teachers, students, and parents on curriculum relevancy. A theme that has arisen out of the inclusion movement is that parents are concerned with a curriculum that allows all students to excel to their greatest ability. There is a fear that exists with some regular education and gifted students that inclusion causes above average students to be held back by a slower curriculum that accommodates special education students. The Special Education Parent Advisory Counsel (SEPAC) works to raise awareness and educate the community about the uniqueness of every child. The groups also works to dispel some of the myths about inclusion and to increase tolerance toward students with special needs (SEPAC, 2002, par. 2). A serious concern for teachers and parents alike is that students learn and demonstrate knowledge in a real-world context (Adventures in Assessment, 2000, par. 7). As competition for jobs and financial security becomes increasingly global, parents were concerned that students receive an education that will enable their children to compete in that global economy. Parents indicated that needless learning tasks, such as worksheets and rote memorization, has little place in today's Massachusetts schools. Rather, learning should be driven by current and future business and industry needs. Teachers often indicated that learning should not only prepare students for the global marketplace, but also for local industry needs. In short, every student should receive employable skills during their K-12 education. These skills should be diverse enough to prepare students to compete globally, but also to secure gainful employment in the local marketplace. Industry relies heavily on K-12 education to prepare future employees with state-of-the art skill sets. Employers have weighed to greater degrees in recent years on curriculum content, standards, and benchmarks. Technology ranked high on the list of curriculum concerns of parents, teachers, and students alike. Each of these stakeholders expressed the need for a curriculum that integrates technology across content areas. Parents desire for students to come away from their public education with a firm grasp of how to use technology, to effectively communicate in multiple and diverse settings, and for multiple purposes (ASCD, 2006, pgs. 1-3). Parents expressed concerns that, at times, it is not readily apparent how the integration of technology is supporting the goals of basic, employable skills. They want their students to be hands-on with technology, and to be technologically advanced. However, when they hear what their students are learning in schools, and how these lessons are being implemented, they wonder if the goal of basic, employa

Commercial law Coursework Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words
Commercial law - Coursework Example Apparently, the cleaner machine that is bought by The Royal Derbyshire Hotel from Walcott cleaners is seemingly suited for this category, and the laws that authorizes decline of sales and repudiation of contracts falling under this category will apply accordingly. 4 According to sec. 18(1), the title of specific goods passes when they are in a deliverable state and if the contract of sale is unconditional ââ¬â this is with the exception of a contrary intention between the buyer and the seller. Whether the time of payment or delivery is postponed is of no importance in this case. This means that if all other requirement of the title of specific goods is met, the title of the cleaner would have passed to the buyer despite the delivery taking place after the date that was originally agreed. However, this assumption is contrasted with the fact that courts infer that parties to such a contract did not plan to pass the title in line with rule 1, but instead planed to pass it only when the goods are delivered or paid for.5 An ââ¬Å"unconditionalâ⬠contract means that the contract is free of any condition which may affect the passing of title. For example, a conditional sale agreement, under which the passing of title occurs only upon payment of the price, or a contract under which the seller must himself acquire the goods before he can honor his agreement to sell them to the buyer, would not be ââ¬Å"unconditionalâ⬠within the meaning of rule 1. Where the seller has undertaken to do something to the specific goods in order to put them into a deliverable state, title to the goods, according to rule 2 of sect. 18, is presumed to be intended to pass only when the seller does that thing and the buyer has actual notice of it.6 When purchasing the machine, Robin could not have doubted the rights of the seller because Section 12(1) stipulates that the seller has the right to

Kenneth lay guilty?
Kenneth Lay was an American entrepreneur who was widely notorious for his part in a corruption outrage that led to the breakdown of Enron Corporation. Kenneth Lay swore that he is innocent on all the things that were charged against him. He further illustrated that the one who should be blamed for the downfall of Enron is no other than Andrew Fastow as well as the Wall Street Journal. Lay claimed that he was nothing but an innocent one who got hoodwinked in the process.Lay stated that all his problems occurred when he treaded into the position after Skilling left. He further argued that he has got nothing to do with all of the predicaments they faced. A report from NPR stated that all of the allegations in the case which were charged on Lay mirror the deeds he took after he took the position after Skillingââ¬â¢s departure. However, this report is a little hypocritical because there are also other cases which were presented in court wherein the allegations concern troubles from bef ore Lay took up the position.Anyone who had been watching the story could fathom that Lay was really guilty of all the charges against him on the deceit that Enron has committed on the American community. His tales which shows Enron as a fancy company save for the pranks of Fastow and the dire admonitions Wall street Journal is a nothing but bunch of nonsense. As CFO, Fastow definitely did not construct the said frauds that had the Enron dealers merrily chatting about tearing off Grandma Millie. Those kinds of corruption was definitely structured and supported by people from the top.Lay may go on announcing until the end of his life that he is not guilty of the dealings of his underlings, but still he was accountable for those people he puts in custody and it was definitely his task to examine the allegations of corruption once it was brought under his nose. As could be seen Lay is guilty with all the charges against him, he did society wrong by stealing so much from the American pu blic and he has the nerve to deny and to blame his underlings for all the things he did. With that, I make firm with my stand that Lay is guilty with all the charges against him.References:BARRIONUEVO, A. (2006). The Guidelines Now Tougher, Skilling to Face Sentence Today. The Legacy of Christopher Columbus Abstract After many centuries, a lot of controversy still surrounds Christopher Columbus. He remains to be a strange figure in history regarded as a famous explorer and a great mariner who made many discoveries in his days. Other people still regard him as a visionary and a national hero while others chose to remember him as a brutal and greedy person who used the rest of the humanity for his own selfish gains. Cities in American that still recognize and celebrate the day parade street shows that feature street dances, Italian food and other activities that teach about the Native American culture. The arrival of Columbus in 1492 has been viewed with mixed feelings with others believing the day should be viewed as an occasion for mourning. Some activists advocate for the day to be replaced with a day for ethnic diversity. The belief that he discovered America is not to say that he was the first to set his eyes on America, it meant that he opened up America to new opportunities. This was by bringing America to the attention of the New World by bringing the civilization of Western Europe to its residents. It was the discoveries of Columbus that led to an interaction of ideas and people and different cultures that made America what it is today. 3.0 The Columbus Controversy The famous explorer has been regarded as a hero only for his achievements and accomplishments only for them to be darkened by his crimes of genocide, slavery and rape thus the controversy arises as to how he should be remembered .
